Default Project: Never forget..

Hey guys, well as some of you know, I lost the man who made my journey into this hobby possible a few months ago, and I'm wanting to do a little something about it.

In memory of him, I'd like to bring back the Original Truck he gave me that started it all: Losi LXT. This was the first car that I ever had that just blew me away at the adjustability and tweakability... leading me to a T3, then restoring his first RC10 gold chassis, then receiving a JRXT from a friend, then Finally buying a XXXT.

The Shameful part of this whole operation is the fact that this car played such a huge role in his life and my hobby, has no more transmission.

I have begun to rebuild it, but I'm in search of a XX transmission with dogbone outdrives, and possibly a Clear LXT body, so I could paint his old Race paintjob on it, and possibly (if I could manage) a Memoriam in the paint. I'd pay, but I'm a little limited on cash...

Thank you for your time reading,
-Jeff

well, I worked my @$$ off on the LXT last night, and got it somewhat done, it needs some bearings, ballstuds need to be mounted, front body mounts, etc...

Here's a picture of my progress...

Still looking for a Tranny and body...

Thanks Aaron

So last night, I got the Front end assembly completed, and the rear all mounted up, but it still needs bearings, which I'm looking for my little gray box full of bearings....

I found someone with a transmission, but they have yet to PM me back on the matter....

Keep checking back!

I'd post more pictures, but the difference from the last photo is unnoticeable

So I finally found the box of bearings, and found out that there was only three in there! (plus two I had already) So all I had was enough for the hub carriers and one in a wheel... Also got the body mounts all finished, and the battery hold down strap is mounted. All the little things are complete, awaiting a Transmission and a clear body If you didn't notice, I used the custom bulkhead I made for kicks, because I've broken one too many of those damn bulkheads!

I'm also thinking of what Electronics I will be running. To be as original(as he was), I'll most likely use his old Futaba Magnum Junior 75mhz radio and buy another Tekin ESC to throw in. He was a major speed demon (raced top fuel drag boats, buggies, three wheelers, R/C, etc), so I'll most likely run an Epic Binary² 11x2.

Mike- Thanks bud, I'm thinking you'll enjoy the outcome of it, as it'll be smoking us at Family! Especially with that hot motor in it...

Craig- Yeah, YGPM back

More recent... Has junky tires on it now... That's the body I found that fit it... sort of... and someone put a TC wing on it , So Still looking for the body.... Found a transmission, whether or not the guy will PM me back soon is the problem

Tomorrow I'm going to the LHS/Track, so I'll check out whether or not They might have anything, i.e. transmission parts, Body that'd fit, etc

No pictures at the moment... I put tires on, and that last picture, The Front Body Mounts weren't mounted, which are...

Well, I went to the track today, and all they had was XX Transmission cases for the XX, not the LXT one...

Elvo of the forums is going to sell me one for 10 bucks +shipping, so we'll see, plus another guy from another forum bought me a case at his vintage hobbyshop...

wow, this thread was getting down there!

I've been tweaking the suspension a little, and found that this is a really adjustable truck! 5 Mounting positions on the front tower, 4 on the rear, 3 on each arm, 8 positions on the hub carriers... I'm shocked!

Here's a More Up-to-Date Picture...

I hate it when I do that... ^^ I'll fix that when I'm done here.

Transplanted the JRXT transmission the other day into this truck to get the feel again for it, it's a fun truck! Only temporary though... Now I'm also looking for an LRM transmission too!

Unhappy

No way to get up there

I found that the XXT Transmission Gears fit in an unknown case, I'll take a picture of it later... it's broken though

So I'm also open to the LRM Transmission, as I KNOW that fits.

I'll take a closer look next time I there and get a price. If it is the part I can help get it to you. I need a pic of the case if you have one or a part #.
