Default tekin 2650 combo ?

I got the 2650 combo in a deal and i do not know what to gear it at. What is the best battery setup? I have heard 3s and 4s are both good but the high kv will produce alot of speed on 4s. I am going to race this so it must meet roar regs. What have you all done for cusion on the esc to help it not burn out? I have this in a rc8e. thanks for the help

i am brand new to 1/8 scale electric and to 1/8 in general.
i used 3 layers of the esc mounting material and then used 2 zip ties to hold everything tight. hoping that keeps the esc safe

If I was you run two 3s packs in parallel because you are going to need that extra MAH. It's really inefficient. Or you can just try to trade for a lower KV motor. Unless your mains are really short you are going to have problems with run time.

i got the same motor, and i regret getting it, far too powerful and drains the battery no matter what u do. i can manage about 12-11 minutes before u worry about blowing or discharging those bloody pansy lipos.

if u really cant sell it then do go for the highest mah like 5800 and 3s. also at least 25c.

then turn the throttle to about 60%

My buddy has same thing, i doulbed up the servo tape for him on the speedo and has been fine for a couple months now..i dont know if you can get a zip tie in on the ae conversion..or there is some double sided tape on amain that is pretty thick and is gel like...cant remember who makes it though, a couple guys at the track use it as well. Either way you want to get some kind of cushion underneath the esc. Kyosho - kyoz8006 is part number for the gel tape

This maybe? I use this and it holds like cement. It had a tiny bit of give side to side which is good for shock absorption. It cleans up really easy unlike foam tape. Only problem is getting the electronic you stuck to your car off. This stuff is mad sticky.
