Default Turnigy 5200 Lipo battery

I bought a Turnigy 5200 20c lipo at the track last week..Now when I go to charge it it says CONNECTION BREAK. Even looking at it with a meter, it does not show any voltage or continuity...Any suggestions on what I can do??

thanks

I guess you're checking the main power wires? Check cell voltages from the balance connector. Guessing you'll find voltage in both cells.

I'd have a hard time believing it has 0 voltage. These lipos have a small piece of PCB in the wired end and in probs like this there's usually a bad/broken connection on one of the main power wires at the pcb. Just a matter of identifying which wire is not properly connected and fixing the connection.

x2. had one of my zippy batteries do this. Just a poor solder joint where the cell tab is soldered to the board.A couple minutes of soldering and some CA to put the case back together and Viola! good as new, actually better since it now has a good solder joint in place of a poor one.

Sometimes you get a lipo with issues like this from HC/HK. You need to be prepared to deal with it or just buy an extra lipo each time.

The other common prob is a low voltage cell. That can be dealt with as well.

Can you get a second oppinion from a shop or another racer? Have you tried a balance port voltage display?

Batteries don't usually just flop like that. Doesn't seem right. Usually they swell first or go out with a bang. Even then they have some voltage.

This has got to be some kind of bad or intermittent connection problem.

Nothing else makes any sense....
