I recently blew an esc and was told to get a sensored motor and esc. Anybody got any reccomendatioons? My price limit is about 175

You can try a castle creations, or a novak. These are both great motor/esc combinations.

There is no BEST... its what company you want to run. They are all pretty good. Tekin is by far my favorite.

Punisher72 08-25-2010 12:29 PM

me personally, I'd go with castle creations products.

$175 for the esc?, or the esc and motor?

At your price range, look at the Mamba Max Pro from Castle.
Or for an even better savings, Hobbywing

Hobbywing will prolly be the only Combo under $175

just a little bit, huh, LOL the esc alone will cost over $200. I love tekin stuff, I can't afford tekin stuff, but I love 'em

a castle creations sidewinder esc and motor combo is around $150, but it's a sensorless system

D-Rek07 08-25-2010 12:36 PM

The Mamba Max pro with motor on Towerhobbies is 195. However the motor is sensorless. But you can combine any sensored motor with the MMP.

If you wanna go cheap, get the Kershaw designs 1/10 ESC/Motor Combo. (It's the purple motor).

If you wanna get something that will last and offer the best performance, go with the Tekin RS/Redline combo.

PM me if you have any more questions.

You can buy $300 worth of electronics on here for around $150. That's what I did. You just have to get over the fact they are used. And make smart decisions. If the deal looks shady, it probably is shady.
