Looking at racing and I need a servo.

What do I wanna look for? I'm new, have only bashed my Slash 4x4, but now want to race it. New track opened up and I just want to try it out. If it turns out I like it, I may get a Jammin SCRT, but we'll see.

Basically, I don't know what I wanna look for in a servo and which ones are popular for 1/10 scale SC racing. Any insight and info will be greatly appreciated.

it depends on what you can afford ...........how much you want to spend? you want something that will work ok or do you want the fastest badest servo regardless of money........

these are a good all around servo not the absolute fastest but powerfull for the speed

i would get what ever you can afford with the lowest transit time (fastest) but over 125 oz/in and metal gears

or this one if you dont have $99

Savox 1258TG is nice.

I ru. The Futaba BLS451 in all of my 1/10 off road kits, the BLS351 in my 1/8 e-buggy (higher torque), and a low profile KO Propo in my touring car.

The Futabas are awesome but they're really fast. It takes a while to get used to the twitchiness - especially if you're upgrading from a cheap/slow servo.

Brand-wise it seems that the most popular are Hitec, Futaba, JR, and KO Propo.

The 3 listed seem like a decent price range. I'd like to stay lower than 100, preferably around 75. I just didn't know what to look for to get the most bang for my buck.

Try the savox one IMO. I just picked up two of the 1258TG and a low profile for my TC and I couldn't be happier. All are smooth and consistent, and stay cool. Plus they have a decent price for the performance. My $0.02
