SC10 Brushed speed control

Has anyone out there had any problems with the speed control that comes with the SC10 RTR. I have gotten two bad ones in row from Team associated.

Make sure that your motor is working. If the motor has shorted out it can cause the ESC to fail.

Many of us have had issues with them. I have gone through two before getting so frustrated i picked up a hobbywing brushless system. On a side note switching to a different esc that is many years old got me more power and dropped my motor temps by over 40 degrees as well.

Yep, me too and several people I know.

I've actually found out that the issue is not the ESC, but the gearing. The gearing chart is completely wrong in the manual. The original SC10 and Reedy 17T came with 87/20 gearing which resulted in melted ESCs so they changed the gearing to 87/16 which still resulted in some melted ESCs. In reality the thing should probably be geared at 13 or 14/87.

I was running 87/17 in mine and was still making problems for me.

they're garbage, they burn out way too easily. minute mine burnt out(which didn't take long) I upgraded to a brushless system
