Default Max Amps 4s 6500mah

Has anyone tried this battery in a buggy? I know it weighs a lot but its better than having to do a battery swap in a 20min main. I know a lot of you guys don't like Max Amps, I have read all of the threads. I just think it may be worth the risk if it allows me to run with nitros. where i race we only have 3 ebuggies on a good day. so with personal opinions about max amps aside, does anyone have experience with the pack in a buggy.

Thanks

If you're worried about runtimes you may want to check out their 6S pack instead of the 4S. I'm sure it would weigh even more but it's always more efficient to go with a higher voltage instead of a higher capacity. If you can get both even better!

That said, I have no experience with that pack. You may want to try their MV pack that would allow you to go between 4-6S at will. It's 1200mah less but I guarantee with a 6S setup you wouldn't notice any difference in runtime.

I have one and it has treated me good. Heavy and spendy but it will do a 20 min. main with ease.

OMG, I didn't even look at the price.

Lets not start the HK vs. MA wars though for goodness sake.
And that Nano pack is 175mm long. WTF is that gonna fit in?

Not as cheap as the hobbycity stuff, but exponentially better quality.

Hyperion 4s 6500. You may get by with just a 5500 pack, but it might be on the edge depending on your driving style and track. 6500 should make it with zero issues.

Thanks guys for you responses and keeping it on topic. I didnt want to start another battery flame war. I would love to be able to run the hyperion 5500 but I am unfortunately running a Ve8 so my battery sizes are limited. I have almost gotten through a 20min main with my hyperion 5000 pack it dumped with 30sec left. i was able to get through another 20min main with my thunder power 5400 but it was about 30sec away from dumping. I want a little buffer to help the battery. might try the 5600mah pro tek. its cheaper.

I dont really gain that much by going with a lower kv motor and higher cell count. I have tried this and the run times arent that much different. I ran a 3600 on 1400kv, and i got a slightly lower run time compared to the 1900kv on a 5400. I know this has worked for other people but based on my experience it doesn't help as much as i thought it would.

The only reason i would be willing to spend the money is because its the same price as buying a decent nitro engine and i really prefer electric.

I've got a MaxAmps 6500 for more than a year now, and it is still serving me well. Feels a bit heavy, yes, but solid and reliable with long runtime. After more than a year it still charges 5500 mAh.
Most Turnigys I bought are crap, some Zippy are nice and a few ones are crap.

I was just looking at getting a package from them:

Hyperion EOS0720iNET3 DC Balance Charger
Lipo 5250 4S 14.8V Pack
45A Switching Power Supply
Lipo Sack

$503.00

Does this seem like it's a bit high $$$ for this package? Are their lipos any good?

MulliganAl,

Just to let you know, if you purchase over $500 like you would on this order, that will bump you up to a 15% discount with our membership program. If you email [email protected] with your order number after you place it, I will credit the 15% back to your credit card.

That would save you around $75 on your order. You normally get 5% off your first order with the membership program but if your first order is over $500 then we will bump you up to the 15% off on your first order, but we have to do it manually. Hope that makes sense.
