Default Tekin 1900 vs 2050

How do these motors compare on a 4S setup? I know, I'd like to go with a lower KV setup, on 6S lipos, but I don't have the money to get all new lipos, etc. right now. So, I am looking at a 2050KV motor, and a 1900kv motor. Remember, this is on 4S. Right now, I am running 2200, and it's a bit too much. Would the 1900 not be enough? Would it be just right? What are the pro's and cons of each? Thanks for any help, and input.

The 1900 is a great motor. Plus it does great with timing so you can make it run like 2090 I believe. I had a 2050 and thought it was un-drivable on the race track

I think I may just go for the 1900 then! Right now, I have a 2200, because that is what came in it, and heat is an issue, not to mention, it is a handful to drive. I've placed nicely with it, but figured, if I get a lower KV motor, I can probably lower the lap times even more! Thanks for your input.

I am running the 1900 tekin and it's more than enough. Good on batteries too for 4s.

I read on the tekin thread that with the new software the 1900 runs as good as the 2050

I use a 2050 on 3s and it is a great combo on and off track .... I get about
12 min of hard bashing, 15 min or more if I am just tooling around in the street, and always enough to run a 7min qualifier or main.

What gearing are you guys, that run the 1900, running? I am currently running 44/17. How would this fair on the 1900?

So, definitely change the 17/44? How would this do?

No wonder your 2200 feels like it's a bit too much. IMO, you're overgeared. In my RC8Be, I run a 46 spur and 18, 19, or 20 tooth pinions with a 2050 and it's frickin' ballistic. I can only imagine what a 2200 geared at 17/44 feels like.

I really like the 2050, but if I had it to do over again, I'd get a 1900 because it's probably a better choice if you want to buy just one motor for racing on indoor and outdoor tracks...

I like the 2650My tekin esc malfuntioned(suprise?) so i am now running a monster and after 20 mins in high 90s weather esc was 124 and motor was 150! Gearing is 13/44 on 4s5400. On a big outdoor tracks this thing rockets past everything on straights.

And they'll pass you again in the turns... Imo everthing above 2050kv is too much for a buggy on 4S.

He sounds like he is still a little wet behind the ear's .... where the bigger
motor means he is the fastest.

I can't see any reason to run over a 2050 .... I run my 2050 on 3s. It has plenty of juice on the straight's and is really smooth out of the corner's
where it matter's. If I wanted more speed I would just run a 4s which I am sure would be stupid fast on a track.
