Default Checking Motor Temps

Hey-
Just where the best place is to check a motor for its temp. It seems my motor is its hottest on the wire going to the brushes, but I'm not sure if thats where your supposed to monitor it.

Also, what temp range is a motor supposed to run at, and at what temp do you want to start shutting the motor down to prevent damage?

Thanks!

Usually the rear of the can is the warmest, 180-200 is max temp on motors, depends on which one, have to look at motor specs to see which one applies to you.

We have a bone stock Traxxas Slash with the 12T 550 titan, and (2) Team Associated SC10's both with stock Reedy 540 17T motors.

The slash is geared 16/90

SC10's are stock gearing 18/??
