Based on this: http://www.teamnovak.com/products/br...550/index.html

It could work - but its wattage is on the low-side for an 1/8th buggy motor. For example, Castle's 1800kv Mamba Monster buggy motor is about 800+ watts. The Novak says 620 watts. Maybe for lighter-weight buggies it would be a good fit. I think the 550 Ballistics are mainly used for 4wd SCT racing. The 3000kv also is a turn-off for 1/8 racers. Your sweet spot is going to be 1400-2000kv with the right lipo size for the track.

If you want to race it - definitely consider a proper 1/8th scale setup.

no.. too high of KV

get a MMP with a buggy motor 2200kv or LESS and 4s-6s lipo depending on your setup.

Though I guess one could ask do you want it to just run or 'run well'. It will not run well, you could maybe get it running.. of course, but it wouldn't last.

I went the other way ..... I used a Tekin 2050 buggy combo in my 4wd
Slash, usually on 3s. I have ran it on 2s which is perfect for really tight technicall track.
I highly recommend 3s batteries in a SCT it is a good fit on a med track,
med grip. Our's has a small uphill left swooper that I really make up the time
on since I have all that torque. Just my two cent's

^Problem is, most tracks don't allow 3 cell lipos in 2wd or 4wd short course trucks. 2S lipos only.

I have ran it on a 2s and was able to get 7min plus at a pretty high FDR w/out thermaling anything. It was a short track which most likely helped.

you cant always go by KV rating. I have a castle 2200 kv and a novak ballistic 6.5 3400kv and the castle 2200 is faster.
