Default Do not buy Dynamite Fuze System

well today i was at the track running and all of a sudden my esc started smoking so i took it off and it was really hot. I know it was geared right because the guy at the hobby shop geared it for me. Well the first esc went up in smoke. Then one of the guys there was really nice and gave me a new dynamite fuze esc brand new. Well i got into the 2nd heat and that esc went up in smoke too. So i really dont know what the problem is but im nvr buying a fuze dynamite SC brushless system again

I think we'll need more info on your setup. Like which battery you're running, the kv of the motor, and the exact gearing.

Seems odd to me that 2 esc's in a row would fry on ya.

Gearing seems about right to me. The only thing is that a 6800kv is a bit much for off-road......that's more of an on-road motor.

But still the esc shouldn't be goin up in smoke on ya......maybe just can't handle the amount of current the 6800kv is drawing to push that slash around off-road.

If the kid is running the exact same setup and gearing then it's probably a matter of time until his fries as well.

Maybe there's some friction on the path the motor takes to the wheels. Bad bearings, an extremely tight diff, etc. Check how easily the wheels and and the spur/pinion spins around.

Ok, well, you didn't change anything? Same wheels etc? Did you run in high resistance terrain like tall grass?

What's the brand of the battery?

I've heard some batteries can cause voltage spikes which can damage an esc (especially one with cheaper components).

Ive got 2 Fuse brushless systems and havent had any trouble out of them, one is in my Mini T (7000kv) and the other is in my Losi XXX BK2 (5800kv). My LHS sells a crap load of them and have had 2 come back. Dynamite made it better for the customer buy letting him keep the system and sending him a whole new system to replace the ESC. I run both of them off and on road on LiPos with no problems out of either system. Most of the SC racers at there track are running the Fuse short course system without any troubles.

I'd really suggest running a motor that's in the 3000-5000kv range for that Slash and gear accordingly. 6800kv is not designed for off-road and by the sounds of it to me, it's kinda the limits for that esc.

I think your problem was trying to run that high of a kv in a Slash, 6800kv is ment more for an On-road car. What were the temps of the ESC and Motor at?? I run my Losi Buggy all day in 100 degree heat and im seeing 117 degrees on the ESC and 140 degrees at the motor and i keep my motor timing set at standard on the buggy and low on my Mini T.
