take a close look, hold it so you are looking directly at the end, you can see the area they ground down to flatten the last spring coil, the printing is right next to that on the unflattened part of the last coil. It's small and printed in a gray color. The spring itself is not painted.
I was thinking about that option anyway, what parts do I need to do that and what is the spring/oil/piston combo that seems to be the consensus starting point? I would be running mod on a medium sized indoor clay track, medium to high traction.

i would start with red rears and yellow fronts or something with a comparable spring rate.. . also stick with whatever pistons are the hot ticket in small bore shocks. I forget what they where for sc but i think it was 3b. i like my sc set up kind of stiff so i would probably start out around 37.5/35 for oil. but that all depends on the surface /weather its smooth, bumpy and all that.if someone else is fairly competitive at your local track and runs a kyosho find out what they are running and start there.

What do you guys like to run for rear weight percentage on the outdoor dirt tracks? Track that seem to have less grip and more loose material than the clay tracks.

Sc10? This truck has rear traction and awesome mechanical grip to start with. The diff is 100 times better as well. I will never run an sc10 again.
In all fairness, the Sc10 is ok but the Kyosho is a better performer in my opinion and lasts lots longer in between rebuilds.
