Battery size

Hi, I am looking at getting a 5s pack to run with a Tekin 1700 Truggy motor.
I can get either a 5800mah 30c or a 5000mah 40c battery.

Not too sure on witch one to go with.
Will they both give the same run time or will you hardly even notice the difference between the two?

Any information is appreciated.
Cheers.

I would run the 5800mah 5s 30c because you will have more runtime in long races and if you are talking about the turnigies i've heard that pack goes up to 6200mah on the charger.

Thanks, So the 5800 will give me more run time than the 5000 even though the 5000 is 40c and the 5800 is 30c ?

Cheers.

Why do you need it for? Very long mains?
Because for normal races you have enough with 5S 4000mah in a buggy (in your sig).

4S 5000mah =~ 5S 4000mah =~ 6S 3200mah

Actually it is for the Truggy in the sig. TFR801XT

Yes, mainly for the mians. 20+ minutes run time would be ideal.

So not sure if 5800 will give me more run time than the 5000 even though the 5000 is 40c and the 5800 is 30c ?

Cheers.

lipo

no problem, and yes the 5800 will last longer.

The c rating doesnt affect run time. It give more constant power. The 5800 will have more runtime but the 5000 will have more punch.

Cheers.
Appreciated.

Actually it does a little bit.
If your running your battery on the limit, it will be less efficient = less runtime.

So you will prolly have a longer runtime with a 5000mah 40C battery then with a 5000mah 20C battery.

But in your case, the extra 800mah will give you more runtime since there isn't much difference in the max current.

40C * 5Ah = 200A
30C * 5.8Ah = 174A

The 5000mah 40C battery has a bit more punch, but I don't know if you are going to feel that. I had 20C 5000mah battery's in my buggy and now i have same battery, but 40C. I do feel the difference when driving, the 40C packs have a bit more punch. But there was a diffence of 100A in my case. The 2200kv MMM combo is rated at 120A cont. so I was limited by the 100A of my lipo's. But in your case we are only talking about 26A, and still... 174A cont. is still more then enough.

If you want the longest runtime, then go for the 5800mah packs.

Excellent.
Easy choice then. 5800mah.

Cheers. Appreciated.

I would run the pack that is lighter.
