I just started racing in August, and spending more on servo's was one of my first lessons.

I picked up an RT5 and a Power HD DS-090M "High Speed Digital Servo". I mainly race a tighter indoor track and a couple medium outdoor tracks, and on both I could out think the servo. The car felt disconnected from my input, and the wheels would wiggle a little around corners. After long mains, the servo would also be warm.

I then got to lap a fellow racer's RT5 and it was a night and day difference. That night I ordered a JR9100S, and it it is phenomenal.

That said, I now run the DS-090M in my RB5 SP and it works just fine. Not as much weight to throw around, and smaller inputs lead to more steering angle. Every car is different, and if what you are running now works and your servo is fast enough for you, GREAT!

Alright guys. Quick question
JR 9100S or Hitec 7955? Both for around ~$100 to go in an EX-1.5 buggy

Default align

Align makes a servo that is really strong and really fast.It has a coreless motor and dual ball bearing along with all titanium gears with 0.07 at 10.0kg of torque. It is called the align ds620 and it cost 67.99 at most places and have an aluminum heatsink. It works great for throttle and brake and also in my steering.

Shoot! I just found out it's not recommended to run a HV servo with my Futaba 4pk receivers.

Damn, I just bought a castle bec and savox hv servo for my new e-truggy. Uncool!

Anyone looking for a month old 4pk?

What receiver, and where'd you find that info?

Where can I get Savox servos in the US?

Any of their surface receivers. Check their website.

For Savox: Stormer Hobbies has some.

Thanks! That doesn't mean you can't run a HV servo, it just means you can't put 7.4 volts to it. My MMPro esc has a program feature that allows you to control how much voltage goes out to the servo.

I agree with you. I run the Futaba 3305 in my buggy and I have no complaints.

Okay I have seen the light, my friend let me drive his T4 with the Power HD DS-090M which is a .10 second 133oz torque servo and it is more responsive. Also I have noticed my S3305 burn out because it doesn't turn as far right as it used to, but that may be because I got it a long time ago and I was young and didn't know of EPA.

I learned a long time ago that cheaping out on electronics only leads to spending more money on electronics. I use a JR 8717 for throttle/brake on my Baja and a Hitec 5755MG for steering. I use a 7955TG for brake , 5645MG for throttle, and Futaba 5050 for steering on my 1/5 on road car. The 8717 and 7955 weren't cheap but are awesome and worth it in my opinion. I'm not taking chances in stopping a $1500 or $2000 car, that would be stupid.
