Default Brand new RC10T4.1

My buddy just ran his brandy new T4.1 and the ESC burnt. He took it out of hte box, put a new end on the ESC to match the rest of his stuff, put a brand name 3s lipo in it and after about 200 yards the esc totally melted down. what would cause this? will it be covered under warranty?

If the esc is not covered under warranty I, personally, would get a Mamba Max Pro. These esc's will handle everything you can throw at it and their customer service is second to none. My 2 cents.

i don't get how it was 50% more than it could handle, this is the system that is in it isn't it? he bought the rig from tower thats why he used this site to get specs, they sold him the 3s FOR the thing over the phone.

If you didn't put a really small pinion on it with the 3 cell pack you could of overheated the esc really quickly as well.
