Default 2wd Slash roll cage

as the title says I'm thinking of getting a roll cage for my Slash. Don't know if it'll serve any purpose other than look cool but does anyone have any ideas where to find one? Thanks-

Can't speak for just the Slash, but for every radio control car ThunderbirdJunkie has had the body has done a dandy job of protecting the insides.

Basically, run with the body on, and you shouldn't have any problems. ITBJHO, all it adds is weight and maybe a little structural integrity. But that weight it has outweighs (no pun intended) any structural advantages it has by adding that weight up high, which isn't the Slash's strong suit anyway.

But dammit do some of those cages look COOL

I'm not too concerned about the body as they get thrashed anyway after a few runs. Just need to hear some folks ideas of where I could get one and if its worth it or not. I welcome any input pro or con, Thanks!

unless your trying to roll your truck into a bed of lexan reamers, your body should last more than a few runs. Everything electronic on my truck thats broken in a crash is from the shear shock it went through, not the body collapsing or something getting inside of the body. Just run the body and you'll be fine. The slash is a plenty tough truck, just look at this video of me jumping mine:

I wouldn't get a roll cage if you were to use it on a track. A guy at my track has one and every time he doesn't land a jump perfectly, he will flip over because of the high COG.

Default Slash Rollcage

Some for sale on Ebay, made by Integy. Saw one on a Slash used for major bashing, not only looked cool, also added structural support.

Hey XMod, 8ight-racer-maybe it was just a poor choice of wording. The body is plenty durable and has withstood some very intense crashes and rolls very similar to some of the "punishment" yours has gone through. I'm just looking for input of the general consensus for getting a roll cage. My VXL or Mamba 4600 Slash occasionally go track racing but mostly it's used for racing around w/friends. Thanks!

yeah probably so but just looking at the bling factor. How about those proline under/over trays? Naw, I just thought those roll cages looked cool. Maybe I should just save all the bling and get the 4x4? So many options, so little $$$-What's a retired husband to do? lol!

a 4x4 would DEFINATLY be better for bashing unless your just doing speed runs. Save up and get that.

EDIT: Or if you still want a cool looking cage, cut up and CA glue some of this to the inside of your body and make a cage:
