Default SC10 RTR stock servo SLOW!!!

I think it takes over 0.5 seconds (while holding the truck off the ground) for the wheels to from straight on to one side.

What servo upgrade would you recommend? I do not want to go expensive...

What about the Traxxas 2075? About $25-$30...that's all I want to spend.

Thanks!

Mine's not slow. If you're going to upgrade then upgrade to a digital high-torque and high-speed or don't bother. The Traxxas ones are weak and are usually the first thing to go in a Slash, Pede or Rustler

You're not going to find a nicer servo in your price range I don't feel.

Are you sure its the servo? is the speed any different from left to center and from right to center? Are the wheels coming back to center from both directions?

I'd make sure something isn't binding causing the performance problem.

Just trying to help before you spend $

Maybe I got a bad stock servo with my SC RTR...

btw, everything I've read about the traxxas 2075(it is digital, but not metal) is that it's pretty tough and is high torque (125oz) and fast (0.16 sec). Plus it's waterproof. I've read more about them being pretty durable than fragil. And at $25 on ebay...I could have two or three for the price of a good hitech.

Other than that, what would you recommend?

I do need to check for binding... it is just so slow! Speed is the same in both directions. And yes, wheels are coming back to center from both directions. Maybe something is too tight...I will check that out.

Btw...any tips for mounting the 2075? Any modifications need to be made?

I think somebody stated unless you're going to get a hi torque/speed servo, dont bother. Theres a reason why traxxas servos go for $25 and hitec's and JR's go for about $50-$150 depending what one you get. I wish stuff was cheaper too but you get what you pay for and you will regret being cheap

I had traxxas servos and they were quicker than other stock servos and yeah waterproof is nice, but the gears stripped on me twice so it was frustrating! But it's hit or miss, you may be lucky that you never strip them. Good luck!

My brothers RTR SC10 servo is UNBELIEVABLY SLOW...its not just yours. He is going to pick up an Airtronics 94358 from a buddy of mine. Its older, but still a great servo and you can find them for decent prices.

I use a Hitec 7955 in all my racecars. Overkill in my SC10, but I won't have problems with my servo for many years. The reliability and life of the 7955 make it's price worth while.

The stock unit in mine died last weekend. I replaced it with the unit that came with my Vorza. Much much faster. Should last longer too. I bet you can get one cheap.

They are slow, what did you expect from the RTR's?? The trucks, $220.00 for the RTR, now the kit's $169-180 that basically leaves 40-50 bucks for AE to provide ESC, motor, radio and servo. You get what you pay for in this hobby.
