I took two Rustler chassis(es?), and cut each one in half, but in two different spots:

I then took the longer rear end from one chassis, and the longer front end from the other chassis, put them together to replicate the Slash wheelbase, and voila:

I also ended up with a very short wheelbase chassis that could generate some laughs...

Next, I will join the two halves with 1" x 1/16" aluminum "L" angle. I am not done yet, but am working on it when time allows. I will then use this chassis for my Slash in the 2WD stock class at the Short Course Nationals.

I will use this chassis in the "2WD Stock" Class, not the Slash Spec class. The 2WD Stock class allows all mods intended for the SC trucks, but limits the battery and motor.

Late October 09 finished 3rd in Mod SC

http://www.t3t4webservice.com/Rustler_SC.html

Early December 09 finished 1st in Mod SC

http://www.t3t4webservice.com/Rustler_SC_2.html

Like this the best because you can go back to ST class in less than an hour!

keep the pics comming and
@one8updragracer it makes the slash have a lower center of gravity which = better handling and turning. and it also lightens it up and slims it down.

nice does having the tread mount, backwards in the rear really help you gain traction ?

what stock motor are you using ?

and i use a 7 cell and was sliding, around with the tread mounted foward in the rear.

To get a "Extended" SC to handle you need to move the battery back about half the extendtion you added. With a Rustler you will need to cut out (remove) the rear battery wall.

===

I've built a "Extended" Rustler, "Extended" Losi XXXT and "Extended" Druatrax ST all had to have the battery area lengthed OR 1 and 1/2 oz of weight added in the "Extended" section. These are all race SC's not play in the front yard trucks.

Slash set the wheel base spec's for SC classes, SO you need to extend the chassis some how to fit the class.

As you have seen some cut the chassis(s) or make extenders. Each have there + and - to them.

Although this isn't a Rustler, this shows that "Extenders" is NOT just a home mod any more!! :-)
