Default My first RC (E-Revo VXL 1/16)

Just looking for a little insight. I just purchased my first real RC (the E-Revo VXL 1/16) and I'm new to this entire thing. Any tips/tricks you think I should know or any advice in general for getting into this hobby?

Edit*
Askin this specifically geared toward the E-Revo VXL. Anything i should know about it or due to it to make my experience better?

Go to the micro/mini section of the forum and there is a HUGE thread on the truck. Everything you could need or want to know is in there.

I keep hearing that! I'm happy about it to because I only read a few reviews on it before i bought it. They were all good reviews but it was probably the most expensive uninformed decision I have made. I'l have to come back and ask you for some pointers once i take the training wheels off.

Got an update from RC & Me (the store). They just sent out my accessories today and still no update on the RC itself. Thats a little frustrating because i wanted it for the weekend and i aced the order for the RC 24 hours before my accessories. So it looks like i will have my extra battery, parallel, and series before i actually have the RC....

Oh my freaking god! I could not be happier with this car! Its so freaking fast and durable for its size. Not to mention two cheap 3000mah bats running on parallel give me about 35 minutes of pure excitement! I knew i would love this thing but i didn't think it would be quite this fun. I need to find a good dirt lot to run this little beast around in.

I love mine as well. Great rig. Tough too. I bash HARD so I have found the weak links. Pic yourself up the New Era roll bar, it will add some stiffness to your chassis and help reinforce it. I managed to snap the chassis in two up at the front clip where it attaches to the diff. Also, RPM a arms. The first time you break an arm just go ahead and pick up RPM over the stock ones. The stockers are pretty weak. I also manage to always break the front body mount/shock tower looking thingy. The stock shocks also need a little work. I blew mine out so got the GTR traxxas shocks and they held up alot better. My motto, when its broke, replace it once and do it right the first time.
