Default Is a NEU 1509 motor enough for 1/8 scale Buggy?

Hi I recently burned my castle 2650 motor, now all I have is a Neu 1509 1.5y...Has anybody used this motor in a 1/8 scale buggy? I want to use it in my RC8e,is that going to be to heavy a chassis for that small motor? Don't want to burn up my last motorOr I'll be playing darts all summer

go to castle's site and look at their repair kits. see if their repair kits can help you. I shattered my rotor/magnet on my 2650 and $25.00 kit is all it takes to renew my motor. It also doesnt hurt to give them a call! That 1.5Y is too small to push a heavy buggy like the rc8e

Personally, I would NOT run that motor at all in a 1/8 buggy. You may get away with it for a few mins if geared perfectly and running a couple fans. 2400kv is on the higher side to begin with for a 1/8 buggy and that small of a can is asking for trouble.

They work great on small tracks, but you do need to be geared perfectly. You really don't want smaller than a 1512 sized can for a buggy.

Like suggested above, buy the rebuild kit for the 2650kv. I have one in my E-Slayer which weighs alittle more than a 1/8 buggy and it does great.
