The stocker is the most durable. Some guys have run those for two seasons.

The Jconcepts Manta is cool looking. The SC10 bodies should fit the Slash.

There used to be a buggy class made up of converted Slash's. Don't remember who made that kit, or what that long gone class was called.

I have always had better luck with the JConcepts over the stock bodies.. The stockers crack/break up quickly. I have also had very good luck with a full vinyl sticker kit. That seems to keep the truck "together" and lasted longer then anything else.

i disagree with this statement. My stock body was gone in 5 days. I recommend the JConcepts Truth body. Its alittle thicker than the proline bodies. Mine has held up for 2 months so far. This includes rolls at speeds over 50 mph

Totally agree. The stock Slash 4X4 bodys are paper thin and dont last long.
The JConcepts body is the thickest, most durable SC body out there.

Brushing on a layer of shoe goo on the inside will make your body last longer as well plus it helps protect the paint job from tire and nerf bar rub.

I believe it is a proline body but my bud has a v.w beetle body that is retardedly thick, it has lasted for ever.

Pro-Line also makes a really cool looking dune buggy body. Toss some sand paddles on the rear and some thins up front and it looks awesome. Check out the online back issues of RC Car Action, they had a big write-up on how to paint it to look realistic.

Yes

The Proline body is a Baja Bug... not a buggy.

The Slash 4x4 body is terrible

The Slash 2wd body is thick and stong

I have run them all. I have found that the Factory Slash Body, which is thin not thick as the last poster stated, has been the longest lasting body I have found. The Baja bug body is really thick and is holding up well, it is just not accepted at all races. I have run the Desert Rat, Silverado and Hardcore. These did not last long and had some defects from the injection. If you did any trimming with a razor when painting then it would always split on the line no matter how careful or shallow you cut. I will say it again, for me, the factory traxxas bodies have held up the best. It may have to do with the lexan being thinner. I should state that I only race I do not bash. If you are bashing then I would recommend the cheapest thing you can find and paint it with a rattle can.
