Finally got my desert truck tranny case and complete gear diff and dropped her in today. I went with AE black grease in the diff and she was running great here at the house. I have to wait until Thursday to get a feel for her on the track though. I will say this install didn't go w/o some modding and I will also note the screw kit that many have listed to order is the xxxt screw kit and two of the screws in the case are too short and don't make it through. I had a couple spares here in my tool box, lucked out. I have the aluminum rear pivot on my setup and I needed to trim a touch of material away so the front small screw would slide in.

Just wanted to give a big congrats to Brian Wynn and CRC on the win in Stock SC and putting it in the show in Mod at the SC Nats this past weekend. Wish I had done better myself but have to say the truck was awesome all weekend.

Default nerf bars???

Assembled my conversion kit on 1st Gen XXX-T, went on without any problems. Now if I can only find a nerf bar I can attach to the chassis, I think I'll be protected.

Has anyone had any success with adding nurf's to there XXX-T?

I was thinking about this too. Not sure If I'm going to get one though. But there was a guy in another thread who made his own custom XXX-TCR conversion before the CRC kit came out and he hard Nerf bars.
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...rse-truck.html

According to that thread he used SC10 bars.

http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/products/traxxas/Slash.htm
I was also looking at a way to attach those RPM bars for a slash.

For my conversion I'm using HPI Savage pipe hangars and piano wire.

No pics, since the chassis' not cut out, so you'll have to wait :P

found it. it was in the spam folder. just sent a reply.

To everyone else - we have noticed a bending issue with the front axles. they bend quite easily. We thought aluminum would be fine since most of the Losi trucks (except the nitros and rtrs) came with aluminum as well. It must be the force of the taller SC tires bending them, so we went ahead and made new ones right away.

If you email me with a pic of bent front axles (tires off in the pic...i want to see the bend) and your shipping address, we'll ship you out the new steel axles.

John

Why not just ship the new axles to everyone that bought the kits from you ? Now I have to wait until mine bend to get the correct parts ? Not what I expected from a company like CRC .

I had both of my axles bend as well. I took them out and bent them back to get by. A picture will not show a noticeable bend.

+1 , with such a short axle you won`t see a bend that good from a pic .
