RC8 Conversion
 

Hey everyone, I had an idea for a RC8 electric conversion. So here it goes, and try to bear with me. What if you took the Elite RCD motor mount and mounted that onto the CD, but you turned the CD a full 180 degrees, but you also got the RC8T diff spacer/shim to get chassis clearance, shaved down the radio tray, so the battery box(the front one) and the steering servo were the only things remaining there, then you did a dual 2s pack layout on both sides,(like the caster buggies) and put the esc on the CD, (like the Rc product designs conversion) and then put your receiver in the battery box next to the radio tray. Anyone who understands this, please let me know what you think about the weight dist. etc. Thanks!

Yeah, this is what you're talking about...except it's dual 4s 4200mah batteries. nearly 30 min runtime and ludicious speed but controllable on the track as opposed to 6s batteries

thanks to you very much!!! i knew that this is do-able... how is the balance on the car? and is that a conversion or is it a custom work thing?

It handles AWESOME!! It jumps on a natural arc so as long as I'm square on the jump I don't use much throttle input to downside jumps. It's a hodge podge of parts from different kits (EliteRC, RC Products, Caster, Kershaw Designs). I had the same mental inspiration that you had and then just started looking for parts.

what did you take from kershaw designs???

You know what I misspoke, I also converted my RC8T to brushless using the same configuration. I use the Kershaw Design battery trays on the truggy. On the buggy I used the Caster fusion battery trays.
