Thunder Tech CORR Pro 2WD build
Here is my attempt at building the Thunder Tech Pro CORR 2WD short course truck. With the successes of the Traxxas slash and now Associated up and coming SC10 I thought it would be a cool idea to do a build thread on Thunder Tech's offering to the short corse world. Of the three trucks this one is quite different with respect to scalism and I suspect handling. This is going to be a to the point build as apposed to an in depth detail one screw at a time deal. First off let me start by saying that this kit is very complex and has quite a few parts and thats the reason for the condensed build. So if your just getting started in RC be advised it will take some time to finnish. I have roughly 15 Hrs and I haven't installed any electronics other than the servo. I will say that it has been a lot of fun building it and would be a great father son project. This truck is as close to the real thing you can get to a CORR truck without spending the 150-200K on a real deal. The attention to detail and the true to life rear axle was what caught me eye and was refreshing to see. The suspension is very realistic and actually works very well at soaking up the weight of the truck when dropped from 24". Of corse this was done with no electronics and battery so some tuning my need to be done after those items are installed. I will be using a Castle Creations Sidewinder series ESC and 4600Kv motor with a Max Amps 5000Hv 2s Lipo. According to TT 's manuel this plenty of motor to run in the truck. So take a look, comments are welcome but let's try to keep them to the truck as much as possible... enjoy.
As soon as I install electronics and dial it in I will post a vid. Should be next week sometime.

it's kind of neat!
Are you going to swap out the wheels? I am not a big fan of those but hey, its your truck.

they defnitly need a new body
the servo looks like a PIA to get to once the truck is built...
the chassis looks amazing

Plastic I belive.
It just looks that way but it's really easy though. With the body off all you need to do is turn the truck over and unscrew it from the underside of the front clip and pull it out. All four screws are accessible.

This is a really neat machine! I searched youtube for some videos of this truck but all I can find are some really old stuff from 07.
Who are these Thunder Tech guys? I've never heard of them. Are they a US-based company? It's pretty cool that they are using parts from other manufacturers (like Tamiya) for their truck...
Keep us posted on your progress on the videos... I would love to see that in action!
