Brushless conversion Install question
 

I am looking to install a brushless system in my 2WD brushed Slash. However this is my first car, so this will me my first motor install. I am looking to get a EZrun 8.5T with 60 ESC. On the 2WD slash the motor is located at the rear of the car. Will the brushless motor mount in the same location? I was curious because from what I have seen on the 4WD slash as well as other trucks the motor is mounted on the body in front of the rear tires. Also for those of you who are familar with the EZrun sytem, is it a simple mount in and plug up the wires install?

Brushless and brushed motors have similar dimensions and are interchangeable without making any changes in the Slash (or almost any other car).

Yes is should slip in right where the stock motor went. I think the cars you are seeing with the forward-mounted motor are of a different/newer design.

The rear mounted motor is characteristic of the 2wheel drive setup. Rustler is ver ysimilar and its also 2WD. The 4x4 Slash uses a diff drive arrangement with the motor mounted on the chassis since has a driveshaft. The rear mounted motor basically is mounted on the trans since there is no need for a driveshaft.

I did same thing with mine except I went brushless right out of the box with a Castle 5700 setup. I've changed motors several times and its pretty easy. The EZRun motor will mount and adjust like the stocker.
