I don't remember what mine came at but mine run at 2.5 out on top and 1.5 on bottom from closed, the rear exhaust is same but bottom is more like 1 & 1/8 out on bottom.

I was guessing it was flush with the carb on LS and i was thinking 2.5 out on HS does that sound about right?

Flush is close and should be somewhat in the ballpark, but everyone's idea of flush might differ, so just use number of turns out from closed b/c the numbers I'm giving you will be right on. For SE and RE motors 2.5 is usually best unless it's cold or the air is dialed, in that case it's more like 2.75 or closer to 3 on top. I've never had to run it lower than 2.5 out on the top. On bottom SE is 1.5 out, RE 1 & 1/8 on bottom. Some carbs might vary a little for needle settings, usually only effects bottom needle and in that case most of the time it will need to be set a little leaner like 1/8 turn on bottom.
