Default When nimh battery gets to low

Just picked up a Blitz. I know nothing about electric but I have somewhat of a dumb question.

When the battery gets too low is it normal for the car to take off on you. I had this happen and even the breaks would not engage. It finally would stop after a few seconds. Charged the battery and no problems.

If this is true, how and what settings on the radio can you change to set up a fail safe.

I have a spektrum dx 2 that I am using for the blitz.

yes it is pretty normal for the car not to respond to radio instructions when the battery is too low... in order to set up a fail safe your ESC must have one or you can add one... dont know if your radio has one...

Ok thanks. I am pretty sure the esc does not have a fail safe. Its the stock one and from what I have heard its not great at all.

I will say this, the stock motor on this blitz is pretty quick. I think the performance of the stock motor will be perfect for my daughter. Anything else would be just too fast for her as she is new.

I suggest you get a fail safe as when the battery runs out the car becomes unresponsive...especially if your daughter is going to be using it it happened to me many times and now I have changed my ESC to an LRP which has fail safe...
