Ok. Sorry for the noob questions...after installing this Castle BEC, where do you plug in the steering servo? It doesn't show this in the diagram.
And it says this BEC will not operate if the battery drops below 4 volts...but what if your ESC LVC is set to 3.2 volts...will your car lose its steering but still have throttle?

with a external BEC it is wired to the main power wires (example: 14.8v input for 4s) everything else is wired the same servo is plugged into the steering port, ESC to throttle port with red "power wire" removed, and E-BEC to battery or 3rd channel aux port.

Ok. The Castle diagram shows the BEC plugged into Channel 2 on the receiver...but you are saying the steering servo plugs into Channel 2...and the BEC output plugs into Channel 3 (Aux port)? I wish they would fix their diagram.

You can plug the BEC into any open channel on your receiver. Of course the steering and throttle are always used, so the next one to use is 3rd channel Aux. You could plug into the bind port too if you are using the Aux channel.

Ohhh ok. I was thinking the servo would plug in line with the BEC in order to get those 7.4 volts. I thought since the ESC plugs into channel 1, that would give 6 volts to channel 2 (steering servo). So I don't understand how the steering servo will get those 7.4 volts if it's not plugged into the BEC. Sorry, I'm such a noob.

Just bought two brand new Hitec HS-7940TH servos on ebay for $160....
Even came with a used Lipo receiver battery.
Not a bad deal at $80 a piece...

Anyone tried the Hitec HS-7954SH? It's probably too slow for steering but that torque looks good.
