Default Any rumors on a new losi 4wd buggy?

Hey guys,

Anyone see any preproduction buggies? or hear any rumors? Been a while since they did anything with the xxx4g+ and was wondering if they are working on anything at all. I like the current one but sucks that hobby stores dont tend to have a full selection like before

They are currently testing a design that can be bought in either 1/10th or 1/8th scale.

The 1/8th incarnation will apparently far lighter then current 1/8th buggies and super strong as they are using materials developed by Nasa. To look at them side by side they are near identical apart from the obvious size difference.

Suspension is a system called rotating mass and works on a front and rear swing are with spring loaded pivots for twist.

They will come pre-built with a traction control module built in so no matter what your trigger finger is doing your only putting down as much power as the buggy can use. There is also an optional counter-weight system to keep the car level in flight.

True story, I just made it all up now.

There has been a few rumors of Losi releasing a new 1/10 lineup this fall . I don`t see the need for a new 2wd buggy and truck , but since Losi stopped making a good portion of XXX-4 parts I hope there is a new 4wd buggy in the works .

Stop selling what? This is a prototype. They haven't even produced it yet.

This is XFActory's new test bed for a new 4wd. Most of the parts are from their X-5. They are mainly working on driveline parts. This is an early prototype. They are a good 1.5/2 years away from a full kit coming out. This will not be a conversion but a complete kit made by them.

Remember how the B44 came to be? Jconcepts made the BJ4 and proved out the design in colaboration with AE. I don't know if X-Factroy would be inclined but...

All that XFactory stuff is just sick looking...
I was wanting to covert my XX4 over to an X5, but someone
on oople told me it wasnt worth the trouble, and dont do it.
Leave the XX4 a XX4.

But that picture above looks nothing like an X5. so thats something new
they have been working on recently. 1.5/2 years is a long way off, so I guess
they have more tweeking and testing to do.
If it does come out then a complete kit would be better, that a way nobody
has to modify thier old car.

A XX4 - CR would be cool i think. . . . . . XXX CR suspension parts, an updated drivetrain cover, and better inner hinge pin blocks F/R . . . . . the XX4 still works really well, it just needs some updating

does Losi even care about 1/10 4wd anymore?

IMO, It's not so much Losi, as it is the bean counters at Horizon Hobby.

Since Losi cares more about milking the 1/18th mini and micros and the 1/8th scales then they do 1/10th off road and on road, the chances of seeing a good electric come out of Losi will be shocking to most. I still say they need to change the name to "Horizon Racing" since calling it "Losi" is a disgrace to what they were in the day of electric racing.

They will likely use the molds until they are no longer working. Who needs to develop a buggy when another company will do all the work for you? Xfactory does all the r&d for the 4wheeler and just buys up parts from Losi. Once the molds are toast Losi can invest in new molds.
