Hyperion Lipos! A++++
So I needed a new 4S for the SC8 the guys at my LHS had great things to say about Hyperion Lipos. So I purchased a 4S 5000mah 30c for about 140.00, I had about 4 cycles in the pack, and charged and discharged very conservatively. On the 5th cycle I was about 5min into my run and saw a little flicker under the body, brought the truck back over and as it approaches me the pack goes up in smoke...and when I say smoke, I'm talking THICK white smoke that swallowed up the truck and half street. Thankfully I yanked it out of truck really with no damage. So I contacted the supplier for Hyperion (Empire Hobbies) they are thankfully based out of AZ. I explained what happened, and he said email me some pics... I emailed him some pics of the batt and without question he asked for my mailing address, i had the batt in 2 days. They didn't want me to send it back or even ask for my reciept. Their customer service was amazing. When I asked him what to do with the original battery he said test the other cells as only the 4th cell was damaged, and make a 3s lipo out of it. They said that lipo cells typically have a 1/1000 failure rate.
Anyways, its not common nowadays that companys are stand up and take care of their customers. But they did so i wanted to share
They have a customer for life! But on a side note the new lipo is amazing... about 30-45mins of run time on 5000 with some pretty hard discharging is amazing especially since im running it on the mamba monster 2200kv

Yeah, I purchased a 4S G3 VX 5000, a Swift 5000 and a LiFePO4 transmitter pack a couple of weeks ago. All the cells were perfectly in balance out of the packaging, but when it came time to charge up the TX pack, it just wouldn't charge right. It kept giving open circuit errors on my Hyperion charger (the EOS0720i NET3 is awesome, btw), and when I finally did get it to charge, it lost about .15V on one cell just in a few minutes following the charge, while it was still connected to the charger. Probably just a bad solder joint or something, but I didn't want to cut open a brand new pack, so I emailed Pat at rclipos.com (GREAT vendor, very prompt assistance and friendly too), with a screenshot of the Hyperion charger software, and he processed the paperwork for a replacement which I should have any day now. I didn't have to send back my pack either.
They're sort of priced in between the dirt-cheap HK brands and the high-end US hobby distributors, but they definitely have some of the best features - one of the first with 5C charging, great customer service, high quality construction, etc. I wish they'd make some hard case 4S packs, but hard cases are probably overkill anyway with the seriously beefy battery boxes in 1/8 scale.

I own two hyperion 4s batteries and love them! I've had no issues with them and have given me solid run times.
