Traxxas Slash 4x4 Build Ideas
Im starting out with a Traxxas Slash 4x4 (Unless their is an obvious better choice ie. team assoc. losi hpi etc)
I love running at the track (practice, not legit racing)
I love going really really fast and I want this to be capable of both plus durable
Im going completely fresh - as in I dont have any parts yet
I want to know what parts would make it awesome
Ive heard the hitec 645 is a good servo choice - is this a good idea?
I was thinking the mamba max - maybe the pro - not sure on the motor
Should I go 2s or 3s (I was thinking 3s for speed)
Are rpm parts the best for durability and speed?
What parts should I get?
I have a XXX-T with metal shocks - Ive heard that XXX-T shocks are a good idea to replace the stock shocks on the slash - is that correct?
What tires are good for bashing in low grass and dirt
Are their wheels/tires that require no modification that are made for the street?
And most importantly - Ive heard that the slash is strong but bad for racing? Are their any other trucks in the same class as the slash that are just as strong or just about as strong but a much better racer? I want to stay around the price of a slash 4x4 but if a truck is much better I may be willing to put a bit more into it
Please help me out here as I am completely new to this class
Thanks alot guys
