+1 on previous posts, depends the track conditions and your driving style.

Depends on the track. Outdoors on a watered track I've had tires last weeks. Just ran some supersoft aka wishbones on an abrasive indoor track and they lasted 10 minutes. But they were the best I've tried for those 10 minutes. If you want to race and be at the front sometimes it costs a lot. Best tires for wear are probably cityblocks or calibers.
I am still trying to get a good reference for a lot of the different compounds and what they really mean. Obviously, the tread pattern is important for the type of surface you are running on, but I used to think a softer tire always meant the tire had more grip, but that's not necessarily the case. You can have harder tires with more grip if the compound is right. So it is not always clear what to run and can be an expensive endeavor.
On my track I run hot bodies block blue tires. The hardest they make, but even still it has plenty of grip. Your mileage may vary, but that is what a lot of us are using here with great success.

Here Here! Same question. Medium Cityblocks for practice? Dry and dusty/ watered practice laps. Got some James Supersoft dot evo's as well. Will post how they last once i run em.

I've had pretty good luck with wear on clay surface thats high traction. and some racing on a red clay surface that somewhat dusty. I feel like with the newer tires life has almost doubled
