Proline Calipers for 1/10 4wd buggy

I heard a rumor from someone that proline made some for 1/10 4wd.

Is this rumor true. I thought it was a Short Course only tire.

RACETEK 03-23-2010 12:38 PM

They did release a buggy rear and a truck rear like the short course but I haven't seen a 4wd front.

Holy Cow I want some of those tires. They hookup at the local track like glue!

They did make some...sweet!
Sorry the link didnt work but they have fronts and rear's out now!

Here's the info I'll paste from the website:

Pro-Line's popular Caliber tread is now available for 1:10 Off-Road Buggy. Pick your class, weather it's Mod or Stock, when it comes to tires... the choice is clear, it's Pro-Line's Caliber 2.2" 4WD Buggy Front Tires.

The Caliber takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance, and tire wear with its dual-stage design. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface.

They discontinued the inside jobs and brought out caliber's.
That makes sense to me.

Inside Jobs still do work well on high bite clay tracks.
I have 2 sets of those glued.

great addition for 4wd...my car is in mothballs right now, but if I run it again, I may have to get a set of these.

DavidR 03-23-2010 12:55 PM

About time we saw some new treads for 4WD buggy!

I was really put off when they discontinued the Inside Job 4WD front.

Ordered them at the local hobby shop. They wont have them in for 2 weeks.
They said they would let me know when they have them.

I gotta wait a while, but hopefully the wait will be worth it.
Just looking for another tire choice....is all

???E-Racer 03-31-2010 10:05 PM

Got them today. Man that was fast. Such a mean looking tire too.

I'm prepping them now for gluing.
Rubbing Alchohol works wonders, as soon as they are dry again.
I will be gluing these to some Jconcepts rulux wheels.

My B44 should be dialed.

The fast 1/8 scale guys run these so they have to be top notch!

SaladFork 03-31-2010 10:45 PM

I have a set on my SC10, they are awesome... The M3's wear so fast but hook the best on the track I run.

Mini-Mod 03-31-2010 11:54 PM

I raced on them last weekend. They were really good for wet and dry conditions. They really help keep the car more stable when your pushing it.

???E-Racer 04-01-2010 12:10 AM

Sweet responses guys, keep them coming.
After all. It's just a tire thread.

I'm tottally stoked on these tires, Ive almost got the rear's done.
Then I'll be glueing the fronts.

???E-Racer 04-01-2010 03:15 PM

Fronts are glued! Cant wait to try these new tires at Reo this weekend.

Looks like I'll be running my B44 with the 4wd Corr Trucks.

I got a set of these last week, and ran them at the Battle @ The Beach this past weekend. The tires were hooked up pretty good, and was traction rolling in some of the sticky corners. The front foam seems a little narrow making the side walls seem real soft, and kind of want to roll over onto them in the hard corners. Could have had something to do with the traction rolling. Over all, I like the tread design on the Calibers, and will probably be my tire of choice for my B44. Holeshot 2.0's is a close second.

I just picked up a set of front and rear today. I put jc firm foams in the front and rear. I like the way it feels with the jc foam not cut down in the front, should work good and not roll over onto the sidewall. Well i will find out sat.

???E-Racer 04-02-2010 03:52 PM

Id like to try the jc foams sometime. The proline foam is a bit on the soft side.
On rough tracks that I will be on, I might get a month of racing on the stock
foams before they are shot. Otherwise a great new tire to try out.
Experimentation is a beautiful thing!

Thistle 06-22-2010 08:10 PM

What width of foam did you guys receive with your front tires?
Mine came with the same width as the rear's, which doesn't seem correct. (Tire is 33mm wide, foam is 51mm wide)
Am I supposed to cut them down? If so, what width should I use?
