SS Pro or Ballistic

I need to find out what better motor is good for my truck; the SS pro or the ballistic.

Also what typr of brushless motor would be good for racing. I am looking at the 3.5 Novak.

My truck came stock and want to change mine out. I have a dynamite just with a basic stock motor but want to race with my neighbors car.

Any advise.

The Ballistic is a step above the SS Pro. It has adjustable timing and a replaceable sensor harness.

What truck? Onroad or offroad racing? Real racing or backyard stuff?

Real racing, a 3.5 turn motor is too much motor. for bashing or street fun, it may be good for some fast action. Lipo or NiMH?

If just backyard fun or bashing, really consider the Castle Mamba Max Pro + 5700kv motor. I just put in a 4600kv and Mamba Max into a T4 and it's much better performance-wise than an aging Novak 10.5 I pulled out of it and even the 7.5 Velocity that I had run previously. The 4600 is a good motor for racing too for off-road mod 2wd truck class.

The only thing we "did for him" was request that he return his Ballistic motor(s) for evaluation to see if they should be replaced under waranty at NC. Last I heard, he had not returned them.

As posters have commented above:

your best choice would be our Ballistic motors, which are completely rebuildable. We agree that the 3.5 (10,500Kv, unloaded) motor is too "hot" for anything but speed runs.
