Default Monster issue- please help

My Monster V3 is having some issue I cant figure out. Its about a year old and haven't ever had any issues till now. When the switch is "on" it works 100% normal. When I turn the switch off it wont shut off or at least all the way off . It stays on and when I hit the throttle it goes into some protection mode or something, flashing green/yellow lights.

I took the switch appart and cleaned it all out with alcohol as well as the esc.
Reset my radio to it 2-3 times- same issue.Batts in radio and car were 100% charged. Im lost

Either send it in for a new switch, or cut the switch off solder the 2 wires together and use no switch.

Also try a different battery and check all of your solder joints.
I've had one of the presoldered male connectors come apart at the solder joint.

Another thing to check, open the case and check the wire that goes to the switch. A while ago someone posted pics of his switch wires that got damaged and the wires were totally exposed. Maybe one of your wires are damaged.

You can also take the switch off and while making sure the wires aren't touching, plug your battery in. If the esc still has a problem, you know for sure that the switch isn't at fault. If the esc stays off like it should, you know it's the switch that's at fault.

Personally I like the switch. Mine failed after the first raceday, but I just replaced it with a spare receiver switch I had lying around. No problems with it since.

When you use the traxxas mount for the monster, it has a built in place to mount the switch. Makes it easy to use. Check out the pic:

Thanks for the replies.

One question, If i elimimate the switch do i lose the ability to recalibrate the radio, since when setting it up you have to start with the switch off?

No, you just hold full throttle when you plug the battery in and it goes into calibration mode.
