Tamiya TRF2WD thread

I just don't get the Exotek conversion. How can you guys justify the weight and rigidity?
My car was perfect again last night. I ran the fastest I have ever run. I did a 24 6:03 with a 17.5, and my best 7.5 time was a 24 6:06. I also had 1 bobble that cost me 2 seconds. The mod guys on Saturdays do 25 laps on good runs. If I can get my car to work like that with my 7.5 I should be able to get 25 laps easy. The one guy who can usually hit 25 laps was in the A at Reedy.
I weighed my car yesterday, and it was 1510g. 11 grams over the limit. I run no weight, no weighted parts, and a shorty battery with all the electronics in the normal places.

Did Tamiya ever make BB shocks for the 201 or for the 4wd buggies yet? If they update the kit with BB I will be looking to buy another 201. Very nice car and easy to work on.

Dont You Want The Most Ridgid Platform To Mount The Suspension To? That Way You Can Just Adjust The Suspension Without Having To Add In The Unknown Variable Of How Much Chassis Flex There Is.Look At The Trf 4Wd Chassis. Carbon Fiber Dual Plates. All Of The High End Tc's Are The Same Way

Most people post "oh my car is good ect..." When I post something like that I give proof of how well my car is working (race times, other people that are fast). Do you run a TRF201?
MC Scrubs and Suburbs, kit everything (shock and link positions) 1.3 pistons up front, 1.4 pistons in back. 30wt front 27.5wt rear (ae oil for both) AE BB green front and brown rear. -1° camber front and rear, 0° front toe, 23mm ride height.
Uh, false.
Not in off-road. Look up the t-plate mod, it helps the car create traction.

I ran the cut t-plate for a little while and then bought the +8 (mostly because it was on sale). I just spent the last hour pulling it off and putting the cut t-plate back on. We have track practice until 11pm tonight, so I'll be spending the evening seeing what I think of it.

Yes I agree that the cut t-plate mod helps create traction. My point is that the part is not going to flex the same way consistently every time. By getting the most rigid platform to mount the suspension you can then tune the suspension to get the car to handle in a more precise manner. A car with a lot of chassis flex will be easier to drive but will also be harder to tune.
