Steering wacky
when I pulled my slash out of the box it needed a slight left steering trim to correct, prob bout 1/4-1/3 trim correction. After slamming into the under body of a parked car it now needs an almost full left correction, about 90%. Now it switches at random points from needing 30% to the new 90% correction needed. WTF?

Check to see if the servo horn is jumping some teeth on the servo or if it's loose. Take it off the servo and look at it to see if the little teeth in there are stripped.

servo horn?
so am i opening the reciever or the steering box?
|
Neither - look at the linkage under the car, trace it back to the streeging servo - the motor that makes the linkage move. Unscrew the screw that holds the arm the linkage is attached to from the servo. Look under the arm, there is an insert where it attaches to the servo (may stay on the servo) - check that (you may need a magnifying glass to really see its condition) the teeth are in good shape.
The way strg is jumping, sounds like some of the teeth in the insert have stripped, letting the servo spline skip inside the insert. |
yah most likely the servo saver. its not that strong and is the first to strip. if it did go. then buy the 4x4 setup. it takes the servo saver and puts it on the bellcank. it well work a lot better and your servo well turn faster so you can have more response.

can u swap to an aluminum horn instead. More then likely the stock servo horn is stripped. Hmm weird, but what do you expect from Traxxas.

I hate to tell you haters but.... I have won many tiltles with my slash :)
State, Divisional and Local. I run Traxxas, Losi, Xray, Ofna and AE. But I always use the same driver :) |
