Rubbed the wrong way
Sick and tired of front wheels rubbing into my slash body on hard turns, what can I do? 45w oil, 4mm spacer and innner shock settings are current settings. Seems traxxas should have addressed this, wheels shouldnt be able to touch the body, makes horrible noise and I am sure dampens handling. I assume mod'ing the body wont be a problem for stock class, no matter what the course?

When I owned my Slash, I had an SC10 body for it. You have to raise the front mounting posts a bit, but there was absolutely no rubbing, no matter how hard you turned. Other than that, Casper pretty much covered all the other options I can think of.

You can raise the body. There are a few that have done these types of mods. You can also limite the uptavel of the shocks. Puts some spacers on the outside of the shock body. Fuel tubing works well for this as well. Will keep the wheels from getting high enough to hit the body.

raise the body using washers or included shock spacers (youll need some longer screws) and apply duct tape to the body where the tires rub to save the color |

With smiles :D :D :D lose the Slash and get a REAL SC truck!! :D :D :D I had two Slashs!!! :D Spacers (body mounts and shocks) and some tape on the inside of the body will help AND every SC brand has this problem. AGAIN :D :D :D :D |
I used some chassis protective tape. (basically thick teflon tape) to protect the body from tire rub. Works great and being slick reduces tire scrub.

I use clear packing tape and have never had the tire wear through it.

I've seen several people just lightly trim the fenders. Once we allowed GooseBumps, they had to. Those tires are a good 10-20% wider than other tires. They make calibers look like pizza cutters. :nod:

I use AC ducting tape and it's "da Bomb" to quote a friend. It's the aluminum sided stuff and sticks real well. I have never worn through it. As for stopping the rub, anything I can think of has been posted. Good luck.

As others have said,
- Use fuel tubing to restrict the up travel of the shocks ( keep in mind you might break more.. They are designed for a reason ) - Shoegoo the inside wheel wells this way the rubbing of the tires is not stripping your paint. |
