What is the best way to clean your slash after light off-roading, just pine needles and dirt? Besides compressed air?

compressed air. a small air compresser and a long blower nosel does pretty good. if u want it shinny, use some wd40 or some kitchen handy wipes

my slash just gets tossed in the tub then use the shower wand on it. then dry it

if you spray it w/WD BEFORE you go out dirt, stuff washes, hoses off easier. Make sure you cover the hole at the bottom of the gear protector w/tape before you go out--it keeps the crap out of the pinion/spur.

lol, your poor slashes. Use baby wipes & wipe it down for regular cleaning. When its time for a rebuild take the truck all apart & wash all the parts w/ simple green, tooth brush, & water. Then air it off, then light coat of wd-40 & air that off. Then rebuild your truck.

So the slash is really waterproof enuff to shower it off? what about the holes in the moter by the wires?

I use my hose outside and it cleans it up

I use the outside hose. Works like a charm!

I' am gonna take it apart and do a real good cleaning of it with simple green real soon though.

You've gotta love how waterproof traxxas made their electronics. Arguably the first production WATERPROOF electronics out there, even though they're labeled as water resistant. I usually use alcohol based window and surface cleaner, or just rubbing alcohol, it seems to work the best for my liking...

no problems yet. I put maybe 3 inches in the tub, just drop it in, no battery, and spray it down then dry it. seems to work great. i dont think water hurts motors. only esc and servo. but traxxas did well makeing them water resistant.

I'm not kidding here... but for the 2wd slash, I pulled the electronics... that's it.. left the bearings and everything and threw it in the dishwasher. Then I'd give it a nice coat of wd40 (sometimes).


However, I noticed the plastic got a little softer. After the Dry Cycle, I could twist the chassis like it had the articulation of a rock crawler!

But it looked good!!!!
