Questions?? Gear ratio: 15.3

I am currently using a 16t pinion with 90t spur for a ratio of 15.3. My question is, is this risky for the engine? The slash manual x'ed this combo out in its gear guide in the manual. I am currently running a 2wd slash on paved road no jumps short straightaway. What's a good ratio for this type of track?

Well that depends what you mean by "work". Lots of pinion/spur combos will "work" in the sense that your truck will move, but they may not be ideal. There is a range of pinion/spur ratios that will work best with a given vehicle and motor.

Using a 16 tooth pinion and 90 tooth spur will work, but your truck will be under-geared and will be slow, but you'll get quick acceleration and longer run times. Go up to a 19 or 20 tooth pinion and you will probably be much happier with the way your truck runs.
