Lettering out in most cases *most come with only one side lettering*
You can pretty much tell by the angle of the ribs.
With the lettering to the outside, the angles will grab, but grabbing on the wheel on the outside of the turn more... This will give good corner traction with less likelyhood of too much front end traction wich can result in rolling over or hooking.
Imagine if you slide the tire from side to side.. you want the rounded edge to slide easily to the outside, while the inner edge (the blade) on the inside digs in to the dirt.
