Default Don't Want to Spend $10 on "Tire Bands"? Look Here...

I'm tired of getting ripped off for R/C Accessories. Really tired.

So when it came to glue up a set of tires, I couldn't believe the exorbitant prices that some manufacturers like JConcepts and Panther were charging for their "Tire Bands". Pure BS.

Anyhow, I found these, and they work great! Just passing the idea along to the RC Enthusiast who's looking to save a few bucks.

I honestly didn't even know they made tire bands? I have always used rubber bands.

Since I'm an Electrician, I use electrical tape.

The staples bands work alright. I used to use them all the time. I have been using panther mounting bands lately, and they work the best and last forever.

The rubber band idea is great. I just happen to have a "shload" of blue velcro used for tying up cat5 cables. I use it for mounting my tires and many other projects. I got it for free though. Rubber bands would be the cheapest route to take if you have to pay for it....

I've never used any of these band things. What are they for? I've never had any problem gluing tires without them.

you need something to hold your tire to the rim, or you wont have a quality glue job done on those tires. i just use tape for mine, easier and less expensive. plus, i get the tighter fit.

I've glued with and without something holding the tyre and I find nothing works best for me. Mess free, adequate glue coverage and have not lost a tyre off a rim.
