looking at what xray just showed us the brands aren't even close to TeknoRC, RC-Monster, EliteRC...

They showed a conversion kit that looks like what we are already doing. A nitro car converted to electric. I think people where expecting a whole electric re-layout. You all have to remember that the car companies had to wait to see if this was a fad or if it would stick. I think it's pretty clear now that E-1/8th scale is now the fastest growing sector of the industry. This will justify the expense of creating compleate new car designs and this is just starting now. Even the VE8 is a nitro conversion with a different chassis that's all. I'll bet it's another year or more before we start seeing real 1/8th electric designs coming to the market from the main stream players.

Yea, I agree with you all. The OEM conversion kits lacks major innovation! XRAY was a major disappointment with their E-808! I saw it for the first time last night. I'm just hoping Mugen step up the game... Maybe they won't... I'm just wishing on a star... That's all!!!

I'm all about a new E-MBX6, but if they take a page from HB on doing a plastic chassis like the VE8, then they can keep it.

wanting something different is why I ended up with my Hyper 9E. for a 1 pack setup, it just looked correct where things are placed. doesn't mean it can't be improved, but, at least they didn't just slap a conversion on it.

I know a few guys who would be all over a mugen electric if it was built from the ground up and not the xray route.

A true electric design in my mind would have the center diff at one end or the other (not in the middle). It would have the center drive shafts moved to one side . Would be balanced with no battery because the battery would be right in the middle of the car and would not change the balance no matter what the battery weighs (like 1/8th on-road fuel tanks).

Just what's rattling around in my head.

there was a design going around that was like that, but used belts I believe. Battery pack and motor were right down the centerline.

I would like to see a combo between the Hyper 9 with the Center Diff way in the back so the battery would be almost perfectly centered and then a way to add option mechanical brakes if desired.

Just want some simple, but out of the box thinking.

I'm ok with belt drive as long as it's inclosed so nothing can get into it. Humm, then you could put the center diff in sideways as well with gears instead of outdrive cups.

Works on 1/8 scale on-road & Harley Davidsons.

What about no center diff and smaller twin motors... with a gyro that would send more to the front or rear depending an what the buggy was doing....
and you could put the lipo right in the center

Haha way too far out of the box thinking on that one

If you had sensors measuring the front & rear diff load then ok, front & rear motors (smaller) with the ESC simulating the center diff & NO drive train in the middle. Not so far out of the box. Given what we are seeing with Tekins dynamic timing and what the rock crawler guys are doing with 2 motors, not such a big step to do what you are talking about.

or what if the diff pinions were on top... and the center diff was up higher.. this way you could tuck a motor or lipo under the drive line..

but i like the idea of the center fiff all the way to one end.. this way you can get the liop right close like the 9E
