Bearings

I need to replace the bearings in my son's slash transmission. How good of a bearing should I go with(no slash bashing comments)? The ones that are bad are the that are exposed so I was thinking of going with these.

I assume I don't really want to go with "race" bearings since he still bashes with it also.

I don't want to have to pull it apart every week and clean and lube the bearings.

The ceramics are really nice and should do you well. I mean to try them but I always end up getting the standard avid revolutions. At only $1 each I just replace as nessesary. They hold up really well too.

Diffidently go with the avid bearings. They have some of the best bearings on the market. Not only for the cost but for the performance. I have ran them in my cars for years now and I love them.

Unfortunately, depending how much he bashes and how dirty they get, you should still maintain them. All it takes is for some dirt to get inside the bearings and the balls get wore out. I dont care how expensive of a bearing you buy, dirt kills them.

Well ya I'll maintain them, I just don't want to have to do it all the time.

I assume that even the standard revolution bearings would be considerably better than the stock traxxas?

Yes they would be better. You can't go wrong with those.
