Default I need help identifying a gold tub RC10

My camera sucks and takes blury close up pictures so I cant post pics clear enough to make any difference, so heres a simple discription.

Its an orgional gold tub RC10. 6 gear tranny, narrow front tires that measure less than 3/4 of an inch, and has a front sway bar that I can only assume is stock. Gold aluminum shock caps, that too apear to be stock.

Any idea on the age by the discription, and or the edition.

There is no paperwork, box, body or any other reference that I can go off of, so any help is appericated.

Thanks

The chassis will have a production code stamped on the rear end by the tranny. That code can tell you the approx. time it was made. You will have to go to the vintage thread on rc10.com and those guys will be able to tell you what code means what, but i can tell you that with a 6 gear tranny that puts it produced somewhere between 84' and 91'.Also does it have the short F arms on it, or the long F arms??

2wd may have to help memory, but i was pretty sure they were producing the graphite chassis a bit before 91. Got my gold tub in 85 and seem to remember being the only one about 4 years later still running the gold tub - course it had all the nifty big holes drilled all over the chassis and the transmission turned inside the car by then too is why I never "upgraded"

It has stubby slighty kicked back front a arms and towards the rear of the underside of the chassis is the letter A, but I dont see a numerical production code.

If it has the gold tub 2wd got you very close with age. Edition is going to just be RC10. All these different "editions" of the same thing really didnt exist back then

The RC10 came out in '84 and the Graphite came out in '89 (Still have the graphite my father bought when I was a little less than1 year old ) so it's gotta be in that time span. Do what 2wdMod suggested and look it up by the chassis code! 6 gear tranny is major old school!

If the A stamp is on the bottom of the car it's an Edinger.

Ok, that makes it a standard edition.(the stubby arms) That takes us down to pre-88' There were a couple different editions as someone else mentioned. The different editions are-

Standard (84-88)
TQ10 (88-91) will have the longer F arms , and 1 peice TQ wheels
TQ10 graphite (88-91) same as tq10, just graphite chassis.some came with 3 peice wheels depending on if you got the kit with bushings, or the kit with bearings.Cant rememberwhich came with which off the top of my head, that was MANY race weekends ago!LOL!
Team car (91-93) black chassis, stealth tranny
Worlds car (93-B2) similar to team car kit with worlds front end

The tread that ccristo linked should sum it up perfectly, Its a great reference to figure out what you have. I would guess it is a cadillac, probably more common. You can check out the rear lower spring cup, if it has the original tires, other minor details to better get an idea.

CCristo thanks for that link it was an incredible help - I appericate everyones help and input too, with out everyones help I wouldnt have been able to figure this one out.

Its a Cadillac. The gold pan is darker, the spring are on the out side of the lower spring cup, the steering arms (where the servo connnects) are not identical, three piece front rims with 4 rib associated tires, larger shock cap gaskets, but the shock towers mostly match the Edinger.
(do not have stock rear tires or rims.)

Also the A that is stamped under the motor is recessed as it was punched, with a letter punce, but under the chassis it protrudes as if it was molded that way? and the very top of the letter A where it comes to a point looks as if it was double striked out wards, but its just at the point and not the entire letter.

Ill post pictures when my wife gets home from work, she has her camera in her purse.

Though I know you cant tell with out pictures, the strike marks as well as the thinner shock towers - could it be one that was possibly in the middle of the change from Edinger to Cadillac?
