one reason is because without load there is no wind. when you drive you have wind.

other then that i dont know, but keep in mind motors arent designed to run no load hence they dont work well in that situation.

and it will heat up if you keep it going till either the rotor demagnitizes or the bobine short out.

I have a question about this topic. Why would you free spin a motor anyway? Having tuning issues????

bought two replacement motors.

seller simply placed them both in a padded bag and posted them.

one motor has a dented case, and is being sent back.

the other has scratches, but appears to be ok, thats why I tested it not in a vehicle.
