Durango DEX210 Thread
#2416
Just picked up a Dex210 and getting ready for the build.
This is my first buggy and I had a newb question for tires.
I will be running on a bumpy dirt track/low to med traction.
The tires I chose are Holeshots M4 and Suburbs M4 for the rear. Using Scrubs M3 for the front.
Are vent holes recommended for the tires similar to SC and 1/8 tires?
I was doing some research and looks like vent holes are recommended when using closed cell foams. No vent holes for stock/white inserts.
Is this correct?
Any feedback will be great - thanks

Well after two races I have an outdrive thats shot. It was on the left side primarily and its hogged out to where the cvd will not move freely under power. Sounds like this is an isolated case as no one else is having the same problem.
Just rebuilt the diff with some Bfast balls and it feels nice. I flipped the diff so I can race on Saturday but will be buying some new outdrives as soon as they are in stock.

Something worth considering with venting: If you plan to use traction compounds on your tires, you should put vent holes in the rims. Holes in the tires will allow tire sauce to eat the foams quickly. If you're running outdoors on looser surfaces, vent holes in the tires allows dirt to escape.

im wanted to know if anyone has tried a diff from another brand on this car? only reason im asking is because i need a new circlip and i dont have one here local, but i can pick up an ae diff or kyosho diff, but not sure if they will fit and i dont want to waste my money on one and have it not work.

You will have to check you cvd's, as the durango pins are larger than both of those cars I believe..

I will end up putting vent holes since I will be running on a loose dirt and 50/50 clay and dirt track.
