Hey everyone. What are you thoughts on the RTR Dex210 versus the pro?
Reason I ask, tower has a pretty killer deal right now on it. basically $300 out the door with a lipo if you are a member.
Do you still need to buy the same upgrade parts like the steering link for the vehicle?

It comes with a DIMEC +8 Chassis - handles a lot better than the aluminum chassis (see the previous posts on the last couple pages that attest to the DIMEC chassis).
It comes with a gear diff instead of a ball diff - bonus there!
It comes with a nice bag of extra/spare parts for tuning options.
I haven't had any issues with the steering other than a little slop... but I'm going to swap this out anyway because I don't want it to fail when I need it the most.
The pins in the rear wheel nuts are incredibly easy to lose... they fall out way too easily.
It has been put together very well. I have raced two weekends thus far (6 quals, 2 mains) and have not popped a ball cup yet (knock on wood).
The stock tires are way too hard to race on anything.
The stock gearing is 81T Spur/29T Pinion/2.6 Internal Ratio - If you try to put anything higher than a 30T pinion, you'll have to modify the motor mount to get more space. You could get a 75T spur and then your gearing options are better or you might want to look at getting a Speed Passions 10.5 motor to go with it. They were having an awesome deal on older motors since they are releasing new ones very very shortly (got mine for $50).
When I replaced the receiver with a futaba receiver, it made the steering servo glitchy and it would move on its own... so I would put in something else... can't go wrong with a low profile Futaba or Savox.
Best part about it... if you can get it for $300.. that's $100 less than I paid and I'm not the slightest bit upset about what I paid for it. You are going to like it, no doubt about it. It's fun to throw it on the track with the RTR paint job and smoke fools. But, if you are going to get a clear body, make sure you get the +8 one.
Either way, you can't go wrong. Nothing's perfect... exept the DEX210.

thanks for the info. I had a DEX210 in, was pretty clean one run roller with some spares, etc. Sold it as I was thinking of running something else for 2wd but liked the feel of it as far as what I saw.
I run speed passion gear exclusively so the current setup would be a bonus and have an 8.5T V3.0 sitting here NIB. Its full on mod here so that could be used with the GT2.0 Pro I have available.
The stock tires, wonder if they would work for carpet?
Are the ball cups on this versus still an issue like the pro vehicle?

DEX210 Aluminum Servo Horn
Does anybody use one? If so which is the best?
#9068
i bought a three hole alum racers edge just real quick at the track because i stripped the plastic one i had to add 2mm of washers under the servo just so the end of the horn will clear the bellcrank but i do feel like it has more steering control using a longer arm
