    Maybe you are running stock, these guys were running mod. Every vehicle out there has a weak point, they just do. I heard about this, so i asked.

    Didnt mean to come off grumpy. I was trying to strongly emphisize that many rumors are just that, and have little basis in truth. Thats how a product gets a bad rap. Most of the questions people ask me about the buggy are related to something they heard, not something they experienced, So needless to say, i have spent a fair amount of time defending the buggy, and have become a little defensive. Sorry about that.

    I have run the buggy mod and stock. In all honesty, the weak points for me have been the ball cups, rear inner ball stud being attached to the tranny, and the steering rack plate. Fix/upgrade those parts and you should have a pretty durable buggy.

    really. first time I have heard of this fix. Thinking of ordering up exotek rear tower as it looks beefy. maybe I will have to add the 1mm spacer. all 3 towers have broken in the same spot exactly. broke a truck rear arm right on the seam too friday night. Had a awful night of racing and lots of "bad Luck". I am not a novice driver and am having a bit of durability issue right now that is frustrating the hell out of me. Our track (carpet on top of concrete floors) can be a bit rough on vehicles I will admit. I also managed to explode a rw machined spur. lol see pic below. not sure if motor moved or what as i just packed up shit and went home and haven't touched it since then.

    I am new to the machined spurs. Is this a normal occurrence vs molded spurs. I expected teeth to be wore down not broke off lol

  • same happend or was happening to my spur i lost about five teeth then i replaced it and noticed notches on the pinion so i replaced that also i havent had a problem yet , im now putting in a new slipper shaft mine looks like it has a slight bend
  • I would say the motor had to move to create such a massive failure as that. I only run RW spurs in my MM DEX210, and have not had a single issue as they still look new.
  • I have a dialed 210 in the fs section. Fully hopped up. It is listed in my 410 ad.

    I have not had any bad luck with these spurs and by no means was blaming the spur. I just wondered if this is common with machined spurs since I have only used molded spurs in the past.

    molded = teeth burn up
    machined = teeth break off

    I landed the downside to a big jump and that's when the awful sound occurred. I have not inspected to see if it moved yet as I had a bad night in general and packed up after this lol
  • I have burned up a few molded spurs over time, but I have had good luck so far with machined spurs. Also that noise sucks as you know it just cost you money. Check your pinion good, I roached an associated spur on my SC10 and didnt check the pinion good enough and it roached another spur. So now if I roach a spur the pinion is replaced as well just to be safe.

    Also, when building the shocks, apply some green slime to the orings. The shocks can leak a little from the bottom but this seemed to do the trick for me.
