I'm thinking 3 toe-in build into rear blocks.

So that give 1.5 when you use 1.5 insert in one way while 4.5 with that insert the other way around.

honestly, why adjust toe-in inboard, changes shock angle, wheelbase, ...

Probably for finer tuning and to accommodate all grip levels. For lower grip tracks use out-board toe-in adjustment and for higher grip tracks use in-board toe-in adjustment. Also, the feel of the car is different depending upon where you adjust toe. You might also move to in-board toe-in throughout a day of racing as the grip levels increase.

That doesn't make any sense. Just because the grip levels come up, doesn't necessarily mean that you want a shorter wheelbase. If more or less toe all by itself is your goal, that is done on the outboard setting. Inboard changes wheelbase, and dog bone angle.

So, any new news? this thread's been dead all day. Anybody seeing any kits yet? any new info from TD?

With regards to motor postion, the torque from the motors rotation that generates grip is determined not by whether the motor is mounted mid or rear, but simply by whether its mounted one side or the other.

Current 2wds actually have the torque of the motor working against them out of corners - it tries to apply torque transfer forward. Of course this has never really been noticed before as the sheer weight of the motor out the back generates grip.

So a 4-gear rear motor set up transfers torque exactly the same as a 4-gear mid motor set up, as in both cases the motor is rotating the same way.

SO just as a 4-gear mid set up is used to increase traction to the rear wheels thru torque transfer, so will a 4-gear rear set up behave the same way.

To sum up, think of it this way, when the pinion shaft is on the left side of the car, the motor torque is generated to the rear, the opposite is true when the pinion shaft is on the right side.
